Statement on Nursing Home Indoor Visitation

“CMS’ latest visitation guidance is yet another example of the shifting, inconsistent, and conflicting guidance nursing home providers have received from State and Federal regulators throughout the pandemic. CMS now requires our facilities to be open to visitors if the county positivity rate is less than 10% and the facility has had no COVID cases in the past 14 days, but the NJDOH requires that our facilities be closed to any visitors other than essential caregivers – and even strips us of the right to test them on entry. We urge regulators to develop consistent, coherent guidance that can be implemented by our facilities.”
